Global law firm Ashurst has advised ANZ on its acquisition of 100% of Suncorp Bank from Suncorp Group Limited, via the acquisition of 100% of the shares in SBGH Limited. This represents the largest banking acquisition in Australia in the past decade.
The acquisition has now been completed, with ANZ satisfying the regulatory approvals and clearances required under the sale agreement. Ashurst has been a trusted legal adviser on all aspects leading up to the completion of this strategically important acquisition for ANZ.
