Global law firm Ashurst has advised the sellers of Hunter Gas Pipeline Pty Ltd to Santos NSW (Narrabi Energy) Pty Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Santos Limited.
The Hunter Gas Pipeline is approved to be constructed between Wallumbilla, Queensland and Newcastle, New South Wales. The acquisition by Santos of the pipeline is a key milestone for the development of the Narrabri Gas Project, which will be a major supplier of gas to customers in the Eastern States of Australia.
The Ashurst team was led by partner Murray Wheater, with assistance from partner Rob Hanley and associate Renee Xue (Corporate Transactions), partner Paul Newman (International Projects Group), partner Sanjay Wavde and counsel Paul Glover (Tax).
