Asia-Pacific Nations Unite at UN for Transport Drive

Senior policymakers and leading transport sector experts are gathering in Bangkok next week to advance collaborative efforts in sustainable transport across the Asia-Pacific region.

The Eighth Session of the Committee on Transport will review progress on the Regional Action Programme for Sustainable Transport Development in Asia and the Pacific (2022-2026) and address pressing priorities in regional transport policy. Among the key areas for discussion include:

  • Efficient and resilient transport and logistics networks and mobility for economic growth.

  • Environmentally sustainable transport systems and services including wider deployment of smart transport systems.

  • Guidelines on enhancing social inclusion and innovations in urban transport systems.

  • Best practices on road safety especially for two-wheelers.

  • Developments in low-carbon mobility and logistics.
