ASM, Gesellschaft Partner to Boost Global Virology Efforts

Washington, D.C.-The American Society for Microbiology (ASM) is joining forces with the German-speaking (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) Society of Virology, (Gesellschaft für Virologie; GfV), the largest virology society in Europe, to broaden the reach of virology research. Under this new partnership, ASM's Journal of Virology (JVI) will become a GfV affiliated journal, providing GfV members with discounts on JVI individual subscriptions and JVI publication fees.

ASM and GfV aim to enhance the dissemination of virology research by leveraging the strengths of both organizations. ASM's JVI publishes top innovative research that explores the nature of the viruses of animals, archaea, bacteria, fungi, plants and protozoa. The partnership will provide exclusive benefits to GfV members, including discounts on JVI individual subscriptions, page charges, supplemental material hosting and the purchase of reprints and e-prints. GfV and its community of experts will play a vital role in promoting and contributing to JVI.

"Partnerships are the cornerstone of progress. By working with the Gesellschaft für Virology, we can extend our reach and amplify our impact to support the global virology community," said Melissa Junior, Executive Publisher, ASM.

"The Gesellschaft für Virologie is proud to partner with the American Society for Microbiology. This collaboration will foster mutual growth and create new opportunities for our members and the broader virology community," said Ulf Dittmer, President, GfV.

ASM and GfV look forward to leveraging their new partnership to benefit their members and the global scientific community. The collaboration will promote advancements in virology research, encourage scientific collaboration and enhance engagement within the global microbial sciences community.
