Three men have been charged in relation to an alleged serious assault in Surfers Paradise early this morning (Saturday May 21).
Police will allege at approximately 2am on Surfers Paradise Boulevard near Cavill Avenue, an altercation has occurred between a 26-year-old New South Wales man and a man known to him.
The man walked away before allegedly returning with a group.
It is then alleged the 26-year-old man was repeatedly assaulted, before those involved left the scene.
The 26-year-old suffered serious injuries and was transported to Gold Coast University Hospital.
Police located three men a short distance away and they were taken into custody.
A 22-year-old Laurieton man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm in company.
A 20-year-old Kendall man has been charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm in company and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
A 19-year-old Port Macquarie man has been charged with one count of assault occasioning bodily harm in company and two counts of possessing dangerous drugs.
They are expected to appear before Southport Magistrates Court on June 3.
