Assault Offences, Manunda

Queensland Police have charged a man following a serious assault that occurred at Manunda in the early hours of Saturday, July 13.

It will be alleged around 3:40am, emergency services were called to a David Street address following reports of a physical altercation between multiple people.

Upon arrival, a 24-year-old man was located with several serious injuries.

He was transported to Cairns Hospital, where he remains in a critical but stable condition.

Following further enquires, officers located and arrested a 27-year-old man nearby on Anderson Street.

He has since been charged with assault, assault occasioning bodily harm, act intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Cairns Magistrates Court tomorrow, July 15.
