Assault, Robbery Offences, South Brisbane

Police have charged a 16-year-old boy following an alleged assault and robbery at South Brisbane overnight, October 9.

Investigations indicate that before 1am, a 23-year-old man and a 15-year-old boy were walking near the South Bank pools before being approached by a group of people not known to them.

It will then be alleged that the group physically assaulted both the man and boy, before leaving the area.

It will also be further alleged that following the altercation, the man and boy had several items stolen.

The 23-year-old man was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries.

The 15-year-old boy was taken to the Queensland Childrens Hospital for treatment.

Following enquires, officers located a 16-year-old Sunnybank Hills boy at Queen Street at around 2:40am and took him into custody.

He has been charged with two counts each of assaults occasioning bodily harm in company, robbery in company, and one count of affray.

He was refused police bail and is due to appear in Brisbane Childrens Court today, November 9.

Investigations into the incident are ongoing, and police are appealing to anyone who may have any information that may assist to come forward.
