Perfect conditions led to standout performances from ADF athletes at the Noosa Triathlon held on November 3.
Lieutenant Colonel Anthony Craig was the fastest of about 60 ADF competitors who took part.
After swimming 1.5kms, athletes transitioned to a 40km ride before bringing it home with a 10km run.
The 2nd Health Brigade dentist finished in a little over two hours, coming 43rd out of more than 4500 starters.
Air Force's Corporal Tahlia Stockley was the quickest ADF woman, finishing in two hours and 36 minutes as the 1287th athlete across the line.
Sub-Lieutenant Jack Veasey was Navy's fastest, completing the course in two hours and 16 minutes.
Coming in over a minute faster than last year's performance, it was Lieutenant Colonel Craig's best result since his first Noosa Triathlon in 2018.
"I've been trying to break two hours. I'll keep chipping away at it until I get there," Lieutenant Colonel Craig said.
The Noosa Triathlon is one of the world's largest triathlon and multi-sport carnivals with about 8000 competitors taking part in triathlon and single-sport events.
It also doubles as the ADF Triathlon Club's annual championships.
Army were narrow victors over Air Force and Navy respectively, based on all competitors' overall average times.
The thrill of taking part in the world's biggest triathlon was the main draw for athletes, whether it was their first time or eleventh time, as with Major Cameron Stephenson.
"The atmosphere is amazing at Noosa, there's a real vibe," Major Stephenson said.
"I said to the guys this year I wouldn't be back next year, but it gives me a training goal to stay fit and active so I'm ready to get stuck back into it again."
