ATM Targeted During Break-in At Blair Athol

Police are investigating an early morning break-in at Blair Athol where an ATM was targeted.

About 5.50am on Wednesday 7 August, entry was gained to a licensed premises on Main North Road after a white van reversed into the glass doors.

A front passenger of the van then entered the premises and attached a rachet strap from the rear of the van to the ATM. The van proceeded to drive off, pulling out half of the ATM.

Fortunately, the half that was stolen did not contain any cash. It was subsequently found abandoned on Blount Street, Blair Athol.

The front passenger was described as wearing hi-vis work wear.

Western District CIB are investigating the incident and are asking anyone with information on the break-in or saw a white van in Blount Street early this morning to contact police.
