Attempted Carjacking Appeal At Rockhampton

Police are appealing for information following an attempted carjacking at Rockhampton overnight, January 29.

Initial investigations indicate the driver of a white Toyota Hiace had stopped momentarily at a roundabout on Canning Street between Fitzroy and Denham Street around 6.30pm, when she was approached by an unknown man.

The man allegedly entered the vehicle through an unlocked door and threatened the woman to leave the vehicle, and attempted to pull her from the vehicle.

The woman yelled at the man, and he exited the vehicle and fled the scene.

The woman sustained minor injuries to her arm and self-presented to Rockhampton Base Hospital for treatment.

The man has been described as Aboriginal in appearance, aged between 30 to 40 years old, bald, no facial hair, and last seen wearing a black shirt and tan-coloured pants.

Police are also appealing to anyone with relevant dashcam footage or CCTV in the area to contact Police.

Investigations are ongoing.
