40-year-old Boronia Heights man has been charged with attempted murder following the alleged wounding of a woman in Boronia Heights on December 14.
Police and emergency services were called to a residence on Short Street around 11.40pm Saturday, following reports a woman had allegedly been stabbed.
Upon arrival, police located a 70-year-old woman, who resides at the address, with life-threatening injuries.
She was transported to the Princess Alexandra Hospital with serious injuries to her face, neck and chest.
Police will allege the man and woman are known to each other.
A 40-year-old Boronia Heights man was taken into custody at the scene and has since been charged with attempted murder, enter dwelling with intent by break at night, wilful damage and domestic violence offences.
The matter was heard before Beenleigh Magistrates Court today, December 16, in the absence of the charged person.
They are due to appear next before Beenleigh Magistrates Court tomorrow, December 17.
