Attempted robbery on train in Springvale

Transit Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance to identify two men following an attempted robbery on a train last year.

Investigators have been told a 20-year-old Dandenong man boarded a city bound train at Sandown Park Railway Station about 2.20pm on 18 December 2020.

A short time later, the man was approached by two unknown men who made demands for the victim's bag.

When the victim refused the men punched him several time before fleeing empty handed at Huntingdale.

Investigators have released CCTV images of two men who they believe can assist with their enquiries.

The first man was perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium build and blonde collar length hair.

He was wearing a black cap, black hooded puffer jacket, black t-shirt, gold chain and light-coloured jeans.

The second man was perceived to be Caucasian in appearance, about 20 to 30-years-old, with a medium build, dark hair, a goatee and moustache.

He was wearing a black cap, long sleeved black jumper and blue jeans.
