Attend Pop-up In Wingham Central Park

MidCoast Council

The Wingham community is invited to a pop-up to have their say on the draft Wingham Central Park master plan which aims to improve social and recreational opportunities for the community.

MidCoast Council staff will be located near the playground in the park on Wednesday 16 and Thursday 24 October from 3.30pm - 5.30pm.

"Come along to talk to staff directly, share your thoughts and ask questions. We will have iPads to assist you in providing feedback and games and icy treats to entertain the kids," said Council's Executive Manager Public Spaces, Liam Bulley.

The draft plan sets out a vision for the park that includes a covered stage, a new entry feature for the town and a white picket fence and walking track.

The draft plan balances previous community feedback, design principles and maintains some of the park's key features whilst enhancing the park to provide a contemporary multi-use community space.

"We have received valuable feedback already and we want to hear from all members of the community on the various aspects of the plan before we finalise," Mr Bulley said.

There are several elements of the draft master plan Council would like feedback on. The changes aim to restore and retain the original design elements of the park and to provide a contemporary multi-use space that meets the needs of the community.

You can provide feedback on Council's website by indicating support or otherwise for each of the individual elements proposed.

The master plan will guide the future development of the park and help to attract funding for the various elements in the final plan.

Copies of the draft master plan are available at various locations throughout Wingham, including the library and museum.

You can read the draft plan, and have your say online at Draft Wingham Central Park Master Plan | Have Your Say (nsw.gov.au) until Monday 4 November.
