Aurizon announces senior management change
Aurizon today announced the departure of Group Executive Bulk Clay McDonald from the business.
Clay has resigned from Aurizon to pursue another executive career opportunity.
Aurizon's General Manager Iron Ore & Bulk West, Anna Dartnell has been appointed to the role of Group Executive Bulk. Ms Dartnell will commence immediately in the role.
Ms Dartnell, based in Perth, is currently responsible for Aurizon's Iron Ore and Bulk operations in Western Australia and has been part of Aurizon's senior leadership team since 2018. She has 25 years' commercial and operational leadership experience in global businesses such as Rio Tinto, EY, General Motors and the Foster's Group.
Managing Director & CEO Mr Andrew Harding said the appointment of Ms Dartnell reinforced the capability and leadership bench strength in Aurizon.
"The appointment of Anna will ensure a seamless leadership transition for the Aurizon Bulk business, as it continues to extend its reach nationally and invest in future growth opportunities," Mr Harding said.
"Anna has been helping drive strong operational performance and commercial growth in the Bulk business, including record tonnages delivered under our 10-year grain haulage contract with CBH.
"I extend my thanks to Clay for his leadership and work in helping re-rebuild the Bulk business in recent years, positioning it as a highly competitive force in the Australian bulk haulage and logistics market. This includes his role in the past 12 months in successfully integrating the newly acquired One Rail Australia business into the Aurizon Bulk portfolio.
"Clay has also made significant contributions to Aurizon in his previous leadership roles in our Network and Coal businesses, as well as leading reconciliation initiatives across the Company as Co-Chair of Aurizon's Indigenous Reference Group."
