AusBiotech is pleased to announce the appointment of Tamlyn O'Connor as its new Industry Growth Program Manager.
Tamlyn will deliver AusBiotech's 'Innovation Activation Program' for Australian biotech and medtech SMEs that are part of the Australian Government's Industry Growth Program (IGP), after AusBiotech announced its appointment as an Industry Partner Organisation (IPO) for the IGP last month.
In this role, Tamlyn will provide support to SMEs moving through research translation and commercialisation, leveraging AusBiotech's deep industry expertise and networks to support mentoring, connection, and collaboration for Australian SMEs with technology moving through the development phase.
"I am absolutely thrilled to lead and deliver AusBiotech's Innovation Activation Program as part of the Industry Growth Program to support both Australian medtech and biotech SMEs. Leading this program, I am focused on opening doors for SMEs to potential partnerships through AusBiotech's vast networks and developing relevant educational content to accelerate an SME's commercialisation journey. I am really looking forward to making a real impact on commercial outcomes with our program for these SMEs and I'm excited to hit the ground running on this incredible project," says Tamlyn O'Connor.
Rebekah Cassidy, CEO, AusBiotech, noted in the August announcement, "AusBiotech is a connected network of over 3,000 members representing the whole of Australia's life sciences value chain from spin-outs and SMEs, through to research institutes to large international companies. About the Industry Growth Program
Announced during the 2023-2024 Federal Budget, the Industry Growth Program provides an Advisory Service for startups and SMEs undertaking innovative commercialisation and/or growth projects that are within the priority areas of the Australian Government's National Reconstruction Fund (NRF) and help build Australia's manufacturing capability for the future.
The IGP grants aim to translate more world-leading Australian know-how into viable businesses, growing the pipeline of investment-ready projects for the $15 billion NRF to consider. The Industry Partner Organisations provide specialised advisory services to start-ups and high-growth SMEs who are participating in the programme, complementing the work of the IGP's advisers.
