Early career researchers from twenty Australian universities will partner with their German counterparts next year to tackle some of the major challenges facing the globe.
Australian universities are partnering on 32 new research projects, spanning clean energy storage, medical research, artificial intelligence and recycling, demonstrating just how much universities matter to our future.
Universities Australia Chief Executive Luke Sheehy congratulated the successful Australian and German universities and their researchers.
"Researchers are the engine room of new ideas that drive innovations to transform our world," Mr Sheehy said.
"The power of international research collaborations cannot be understated, which is why we're extremely pleased to continue forging ties with Germany - one of the world's most advanced economies."
The researchers will spend time at partner institutions in Germany and vice versa, thanks to funding from the Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme.
