A single ticket holder has won the entire $8 million Division One prize in Tuesday's Oz Lotto Draw 1601, according to preliminary results.
The winning numbers for the draw were 17, 1, 28, 16, 24, 26, and 2, with supplementary numbers 47, 4, and 41.
The total prize pool for the draw reached $12.86 million, with one lucky player securing the top prize of $8 million. The winner, whose identity has not yet been disclosed, now joins the ranks of Australia's newest millionaires.
According to preliminary division calculations, the sole jackpot-winning entry was sold in Victoria.
The odds of winning Division One in Oz Lotto are 1 in 62,891,499, making it one of the most difficult lottery jackpots to win in Australia. To claim the Division One prize, players must match all seven winning numbers in a single game row.
However, Oz Lotto offers prizes across seven divisions, with players able to win smaller amounts by matching as few as three winning numbers plus one supplementary number.
n addition to the $8 million jackpot, five players won Division Two prizes of $35,666 each, while 53 players claimed Division Three prizes of $3,976. Other divisions saw nearly 420 Division Four winners receive $387, and more than 2,800 Division Five winners take home $44 each. The draw also produced over 67,000 Division Six winners and more than 154,000 Division Seven winners, who won $23 and $16, respectively.
The Oz Lotto draw, held weekly on Tuesdays, offers players the chance to win multimillion-dollar prizes.
