Austin Avenue Reserve Playground Reopens for Fun

Georges River Council

Georges River Council is pleased to announce the completion of works to renew Austin Avenue Reserve's playground in Beverly Hills, with the playground now officially open for use.

The project's renewal, informed by community consultation, offers enhanced facilities designed to engage and inspire children and families who utilise the space.

The rejuvenation involved the replacement of aging play equipment with modern, state-of-the-art structures designed to cater to children of all ages and abilities. Key upgrades include new swings, climbing frames, slide, and inclusive play elements, all helping to encourage physical activity, creativity, and social interaction among young visitors.

David Tuxford, General Manager of Georges River Council, emphasised the importance of this project for local families. "We are thrilled to unveil the new Austin Avenue Reserve Playground to our community. Austin Avenue Reserve is a beloved community hub, and we are pleased to provide the renewed space where children can enjoy the outdoors and families can gather in a safe, welcoming environment."

Austin Avenue Reserve was identified for renewal as part of Council's Playground Program 2023/2024, which looks to upgrade existing playspaces within the local government area to better support the community's needs.
