The Business Council of Australia will facilitate the seventh Australia-China CEO Roundtable in Perth on 18 June, bringing together prominent companies from both countries alongside leaders of the Australian and Chinese Governments.
BCA Chief Executive Bran Black said this Roundtable will focus on strengthening the two-way economic trading relationship, particularly in sectors like mining, agriculture and services.
"More than 20 per cent of Australian jobs rely on trade, so growing our export opportunity is fundamental to Australia's continued economic success, creating new jobs and growing new businesses," Mr Black said.
"Australia's trade with China will continue to be a priority and we are pleased there is a continuing stabilisation of the relationship."
This is the first time the Roundtable has been held since 2017, and follows an important business engagement between Australian and Chinese CEOs convened by the BCA in Shanghai last year, alongside the Prime Minister's visit to China.
"Person to person and business to business relationships are key to growing economic opportunities and so I look forward to engaging with my Chinese counterparts in Perth," Mr Black said.
Mr Black also noted the Roundtable would focus on how businesses can capitalise on the energy transition, particularly in the areas of green metals and clean energy technologies.
"This dialogue will help identify impediments to be addressed, so both economies can better leverage the opportunities of the net zero transition."
