Nominations are now open for Devonport City Council's 2023 Australia Day Awards.
The Australia Day Awards are an opportunity to acknowledge and celebrate our local heroes and to honour those individuals and groups who have given their time and energy to the Devonport community.
Outgoing Devonport Mayor Annette Rockliff said Australia Day is about honouring those who put others before themselves and celebrating our community's resilience and unity.
"I encourage people to nominate those in our community who have made a positive and significant contribution to Devonport.
"There are many people within our community who do great things, and often these people go unnoticed.
"This could be your neighbour, a friend or someone you have come across through your local school, church or community group; someone who works selflessly to help improve the community and the lives of others," said Cr Rockliff.
Award categories include Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year* and Community Event of the Year.
*Young Citizen of the Year nominees must be aged under 30 years on 26 January 2023.
The Awards are open to residents and/or ratepayers of the Devonport local government area, and close at 5:00pm on Thursday, 1 December 2022.
The online application form is available at Australia Day Awards | Devonport City Council
