Council is inviting residents to nominate inspiring locals for the 2025 Australia Day Awards.

Nominations are now open and will be accepted until 8 November in the following categories: Citizen of the Year, Senior Citizen of the Year, Young Citizen of the Year, and Youth Encouragement Award.

Australia Day Awards hold great significance as they recognise the contributions of individuals who enhance our community and foster a spirit of unity and pride.

Mayor Tom Kennedy emphasized the importance of the awards, saying, "This is an opportunity to honor those who go above and beyond in challenging times. Many individuals in our community are making a real difference, and it's vital we acknowledge their efforts."

He encouraged everyone to participate: "Let's celebrate the deserving people who give so much back to our community. Please take a moment to submit a nomination to ensure their contributions are recognised."
