Residents are invited celebrate Australia and recognise a host of inspiring locals at the traditional Australia Day ceremony at the Civic Centre on January 26.
The big day will kick off at 7.30am on the Civic Centre Plaza with a BBQ breakfast by gold coin donation thanks to the Lions Club.
A flag raising ceremony will be held at 8.30am, with official proceedings including the 2025 Australia Day Awards to be held in the auditorium from 9am.
Other highlights will include welcoming new Australians via the Citizenship Ceremony, a welcome from Mayor Tom Kennedy, and an address from the city's Ambassador for 2025, media personality Mike Goldman.
Mr Goldman boasts an impressive career in the media and entertainment industry, starring on radio, TV, and the big screen in Australia and abroad.
He is possibly best known for his various roles with Big Brother and its associated programs, taking on roles as host, narrator, and producer across two decades.
He has also lent his talent as a host, narrator, and voice actor to over 1700 shows across all major Australian TV networks, along with international networks ESPN, National Geographic, Disney, and much more.
His abilities as an actor have been showcased on television with roles on shows such Home And Away, A Place To Call Home, and The Wilds, and on the big screen in feature films Goddess, Monsters of Man, and Zombie Plane.
Official proceedings will be followed by a free morning tea, and there will be free entry to the Aquatic Centre until 6pm, with the waterslide in operation.
The Living Desert, Art Gallery, and GeoCentre will all also have free entry for locals and tourists to enjoy.
