Wyndham City's free Australia Day program on Sunday 26 January 2025 is coming to Tarneit!
Wyndham City Mayor Cr Mia Shaw said the free, family-friendly event would be held at Penrose Place in Tarneit this year, with a huge line up of live music, kids' activities, and roving performances from 10am - 2pm.
"Our Australia Day in Wyndham program provides an opportunity for our community to come together and mark the day and enjoy a great line up of entertainment in a relaxed, family-friendly setting," Cr Shaw said.
"Following past events in Werribee, Point Cook, Hoppers Crossing, Manor Lakes and Werribee South, we're looking forward to bringing this event to Tarneit for the first time."
"Visitors will be able to enjoy a headline performance by The Mik Maks, funky 60s sounds from The Soul Movers, Bollywood dancing with NB Dance, high energy beats from One Spirit Africa and ukulele fun with Woody's World."
"Out on the lawn there will be free craft activities for the kids to enjoy, face painting and roving entertainment, including the incredible Bubble Brothers, hula hooping fun with Circus Lab, Dreamy the Dream Bear, fantastical aeronauts, stilt walkers and brass band Ballahornication." Cr Shaw said.
There will be a range of food trucks available to purchase food, or you can bring along your own picnic to enjoy.
The Australia Day in Wyndham program will also include the presentation of the 2025 Wyndham Citizen and Young Citizen of the Year Awards - recognising the outstanding service of community members who make Wyndham a better place.
"It's a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge and appreciate their contribution in front of their family, friends and the wider community," Cr Shaw said.
On Australia Day Wyndham City will also host a special Australian Citizenship Ceremony at Wyndham Civic Centre, welcoming 125 new citizens to our City. New citizens will be given a native plant to commemorate the occasion.
