HRCC has made the difficult decision to cancel this year's Australia Day Ski Show due to the low water level of the Wimmera River.
While Council made extensive efforts to maintain the water level using the weir, a combination of consistently high temperatures and lack of rain has led to evaporation outpacing the ingress of water.
While the Ski Show has been cancelled, the Summer Series event at the Riverfront Meeting Place will still take place.
The forecast is projecting a hot day for this Sunday, so come on down and enjoy the food trucks, cold drinks and live music.
"The lower river level leads to a greater risk of submerged objects being struck by boats or skiers, and there is much more water weed visible as well, which would make it more difficult for skiing." HRCC Director Infrastructure John Martin said.
