The popular Monday & Wednesday Lotto is undergoing a makeover, transforming into Weekday Windfall starting May 20th, 2024.
This change will introduce a new Friday lotto draw, providing players three chances to win each week. The inaugural draw of the Weekday Windfall is scheduled for Monday, 20 May 2024 (Draw 4392), pending regulatory approval.
Prior to this, Australia had lotto draws on all weekdays but Friday. This means the Weekday Windfall game will be drawn on Monday, Wednesday and Friday nights.
The rebranded lottery game aims to offer enhanced excitement and more opportunities for players to become millionaires. According to The Lott spokesperson Anna Hobdell, the introduction of Weekday Windfall marks a pivotal moment in Australian lottery history.
“The Weekday Windfall lottery infuses an extra dose of excitement into the week, offering Aussies more chances to dream big and to become a newly minted millionaire,” she said.
“We’ve listened to our players, and they’ve told us they want more chances to win big. We’ve done exactly that by evolving Monday & Wednesday Lotto into Weekday Windfall, which offers an increased division one prize cap and a Friday draw.
“The Weekday Windfall lottery not only offers an increased division one prize of $1 million for up to six players but also the chance to win larger prizes across divisions two to six.”
Ms Hobdell emphasised there had been no changes to the chances of winning any prize in Weekday Windfall compared to Monday & Wednesday Lotto.
“The only other change players should be aware of is that the subscription price for the Weekday Windfall lottery has increased by 5 cents per game (55 cents to 60 cents) plus commission,” she said.
“This price increase will help deliver bigger prizes across all six divisions, which is what our players have asked for.
“We can’t wait to see if we will crown our very first Weekday Windfall division one winner on Monday 20 May. Make sure you register your Weekday Windfall entry so you have the chance to receive a phone call you’ll remember for the rest of your life!”
