Author Talks At Stonnington Libraries

Our Stonnington Libraries connect residents, writers and readers through a range of events including storytelling, author talks, writing workshops, book discussion groups and more.

This May, you can enjoy these exciting author talks: Family: Stories of Belonging on 18 May and Shoulda Been Higher: A Celebration of Triple J's Hottest 100 on 22 May.

Family: Stories of Belonging

Join us for a riveting conversation when editor Ian See and contributors Cath Moore and Alice Pung join host Bruno Lettieri, in a fascinating conversation about family.

The storybook idea of family: dad, mum, kids, gran and grandpa, doesn't always reflect the bonds that tie us most closely to one another. Many find that the people with whom we feel the greatest kinship – a godmother, brilliant teacher, tight-knit group of friends – have no biological connection to us.

Family: Stories of Belonging (Text, 2023) is an uplifting collection of personal essays celebrating families in all their wonderful forms and featuring contributions from some of Australia's finest writers.

It's a free event and bookings are required.

18 May, 10.30am to 12pm
