Author Talks Galore At Eurobodalla Libraries

The numbers don't lie, 2024 was a ripper year for the 600 book enthusiasts attending Eurobodalla Libraries' 25 talks by local, national bestselling, and internationally acclaimed authors.

Showcasing talent like crime-writer Tracey Lee, historian Peter Lacey, south coast expert Helen Moody and naturalist John Blay gave readers and aspiring writers the opportunity to meet their local literary heroes.

Best-selling crime writer Chris Hammer also visited, enthralling audiences with some behind-the-scenes insights into his latest, The Valley, while international meta-fiction sensation Benjamin Stevenson had attendees in stiches while sharing the secrets on his best-selling Ernest Cunningham series with wit and whimsy.

Fans of historical fiction enjoyed a heartfelt session with Siobhan O'Brien, talking about her fiction debut All the Golden Light. Sandie Docker fans not only enjoyed amazing insights into The Lyrebird Lake Ladies Choir, but were also treated to a choral performance by local U3A singers along with the author herself! Rural romance queen Fiona McArthur shared the stories behind her medical-themed tales, and her audience was delighted.

But the libraries don't rest on their laurels. Look for another impressive slate of author talks in 2025 starting with local First Nations writer Julie Janson at Batemans Bay library on Tuesday 4 March as part of International Women's Day activities. Hot on her heels on Monday 17 March, award-winning novelist Nicole Alexander Monday will talk at both the Batemans Bay and Narooma libraires. That's just the start with an exciting line up right through the year, including the oft-trending Markus Zusak in September.
