If you like to know the stories behind the stories then Eurobodalla's libraries are the place to be, with a bevy of bestselling authors visiting through spring.
Libraries coordinator Samantha Fenton says the much-anticipated series of talks will cover authors writing across the range of genres, kicking off with a revealing look at our local landscape with Helen Moody.
"Her book South Coast Islands – New South Wales reveals the scenic beauty and the hidden stories of 61 islands off our coast. Hear more from Helen about Aboriginal connections, early European exploration, flora and fauna, shipwrecks and more. It's sure to inspire you to discover new local wonders," Ms Fenton says.
"Then we welcome bestselling rural romance author Fiona McArthur to discuss her latest hit Back to Birdsville, a novel that celebrates outback women – always there for each other – and the men who stand beside them, all set against the fun of the famous Birdsville races."
Then in mid-September, as part of History Week, president of the South Coast History Society Peter Lacey will share stories about some of Eurobodalla's most remarkable women.
"From our early pioneers to a world-renowned economist, we need to know more about the women of our region. Don't forget to bring along your own stories of significant women to honour and share," says Ms Fenton.
"Fantasy fans can enjoy an evening of fairy tales and folklore with bestselling author Kell Woods. Her debut hit After the Forest was an exciting rewrite of the Hansel and Gretel tale and she'll present a sneak peek of her upcoming novel Upon a Starlit Tide."
Ms Fenton says that's just September, with dingo-crime phenomenon Chris Hammer and the always hilarious Benjamin Stevenson visiting the libraries and a livestreaming of some the biggest names at the Headlands Writer's Festival to follow in October.
