Campaspe Shire Council is excited to announce its Autumn Vibes program, a vibrant series of free events happening across the shire from March 29 to April 17.
With the change in seasons bringing cooler days and evenings, autumn is the perfect time for enjoying outdoor entertainment – and Autumn Vibes has a variety of activities for people of all ages looking to make the most of this wonderful time of year.
Campaspe Shire Mayor, Cr Daniel Mackrell said the free events being offered as part of the program aimed to encourage community members to enjoy the shire's amazing public open spaces while the weather was ideal for being out and about.
"Autumn is the perfect time to kick back with an outdoor movie, a night of musical entertainment, or even an afternoon bike skills clinic for those who'd like to be more active," Cr Mackrell said.
"Whatever your preference, we've got you covered with a range of events for all ages – and with most of the events falling during the school holidays, it's a great chance to get the whole family involved. Grab your chairs, beanbags or a rug, bring your dinner along, and just sit back and enjoy."
The program includes an array of outdoor movie screenings where residents can relax under the stars with popular films that are ideal for all ages, including: If, at Rochester Skate Park on 29 March from 6-8pm; Wicked, at Gargarro Botanic Garden, Girgarre on 5 April from 6-8pm; Despicable Me 4, at Edis Park, Kyabram on 11 April from 6-8pm; and Wonka, at Apex Park, Echuca on 17 April from 6-8pm.
Music lovers will have the opportunity to enjoy a free performance featuring local musicians. Established local acts Jessica Lorraine, The Wildings, and Kane Vincent will headline an evening at Echuca's Hopwood Gardens on 4 April from 5-9pm, while the first hour of the event will be devoted to offering up-and-coming young performers the chance to shine.
For the younger or more active among us, the program offers two free bike skills clinics, complete with a live DJ to set the tone. These will be happening at Rochester Skate Park on 9 April, and Echuca East Recreation Reserve on 17 April, with both sessions to be held from 2-5pm.
