Cessnock City Council has completed construction of the new Avery's Rise Park in Heddon Greta, with the installation of a shade sail marking the official completion of the project this week.
The playspace features an array of engaging play elements such as an accessible spinner, double bay swing, multi-play unit featuring a turbo slide, rope net, and other beneficial features designed to promote active play and social interaction.
Cessnock City Mayor Dan Watton expressed his enthusiasm for the new facility.
"We're thrilled to bring this brand-new park to our growing community," said Clr Watton.
"This project is a testament to Council's ongoing commitment to enhancing our infrastructure to support local families in the region, and will create a safer, more engaging environment for children and young people in the area."
"We're confident that the vibrant new playspace will provide a wonderful experience for local residents, and I personally look forward to seeing my own family enjoying this fantastic facility!"
The name of the park was chosen by a public vote, and builds on the identity of the surrounding development, Avery's Rise, and the community it serves, while honouring the historical significance of the Avery family and their ties to the area.
This project was made possible thanks to developer contributions.
