B-double truck issued defects after speeding in state's Riverina, NSW

A b-double truck had a number of defects found after it was allegedly detected speeding in Jugiong in the state’s Riverina yesterday, NSW Police say.

About 7.30pm yesterday, officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol detected a b-double truck allegedly speeding at 118km/h in a 100km/h zone on the Hume Highway.

Officers stopped the vehicle and spoke with the driver, a 50-year-old Constitution Hill man.

The truck and trailers were inspected, with police allegedly finding defects including a faulty weld in the connection between the trailers.

The driver’s work diary was also inspected and allegedly found to have not been completed as required.

Officers issued the driver with infringements for speeding and not completing his work diary as required, and issued defects on the prime mover and trailer.
