The City of Greater Geelong's Baanip Boulevard Boundary Road Signalised Intersection project is almost complete.
The works at the intersection of Baanip Boulevard and Boundary Road include the:
- extension of Boundary Road westward to junction at Baanip Boulevard
- construction of a three-leg signalised intersection with lighting at Baanip Boulevard
- implementation of pedestrian linkages between the residential precinct and the existing shared user path on the north side of Baanip Boulevard.
This $7.6 million project is a key development of the Armstrong Creek West Precinct Structure Plan and will open up a new transportation link and improved pedestrian connectivity for the local community.
While civil works are now complete, the intersection is not able to be opened until the site has been energised by the power authority, likely to occur early-2025. The community will not be able to use the pathways until the intersection is open and signals are active as the intersection is not safe to cross without traffic signals.

The project was key to the City's ongoing commitment to improve transport networks in the Armstrong Creek region.With this new transport link, there will be better connection between the Armstrong Creek West precinct and the Mount Duneed Villawood development.
Even though the project looks finished, the site cannot be opened until energising is complete. We thank the community for their understanding and patience while the final stage of the project is finished.
