Back to school payments to help families as students return from holidays

NT Government

The Territory Labor Government continues to support families with our Back to School Payment Scheme to help offset the costs of textbooks, stationery, and school uniforms as students return from holidays.

The $150 annual payment can also be used for school camps, excursions, elective activities, and subject material costs.

All Northern Territory students are entitled to the payment, including those enrolled in government and non-government schools, and home-educated students.

Payments, available now, must be redeemed by the end of Term 1 2022. The payment is available for pre-schoolers throughout the year but is only valid until the end of their first term of enrolment.

Last year payments worth $6.6 million were honoured for approximately 44,000 Territory students.
