The City of Ballarat has received the Health Impact Assessment from the applicant, acting on behalf of the Ballarat Gold Mine, responding to concerns received from objectors regarding a planning application for a tailings' storage facility at the Woolshed Gully Drive, Mount Clear site.
A community information session is scheduled for 19 June 2023 at the Mercure Ballarat, 613 Main Road, Golden Point. The session will run from 4.30pm - 6.30pm.
While this is not a statutory requirement of the assessment process, given the nature of the issues raised by objectors, Ballarat Gold Mine has offered to host this session in order to respond to objectors' concerns.
People that have previously submitted a response to the application will receive notification of the information session. Any member of the community may also attend the information session, provided they register.
If you wish to attend the information session, please confirm your attendance by close of business 15 June 2023 by e-mail to [email protected] or phone 03 5320 5640. Confirmation will be passed onto Ballarat Gold Mine as the host of the event.
Community members can still make a formal submission to the application, via the City of Ballarat's e-services portal so that their concerns may be considered through the planning process.
