The Banksia Reserve sportsground will be closed for 2 weeks between 23 December 2024 and 7 January 2025.
The popular sportsground is used for community sport and enjoyed by dog walkers and reserve users. The heavy use, and recent weather has deteriorated the surface. During the short closure we'll aerate the grass, fill potholes and lay fresh fertiliser to improve and re-establish the turf.
Works will help to ensure the sportsground surface is in better condition for community sport and all reserve users.

Between 26 August and 16 September, we engaged with the community about a proposed secure off-leash dog area at William Street and Banksia Reserves. Feedback for Banksia Reserve showed 35 contributors were in support of the proposed trial, while 12 contributors were opposed. The Banksia Reserve design proposal is being considered with further information to follow in early 2025.
