BankWAW Ends Services at Moulamein Business Centre

Murray River Council

BankWAW has today announced their decision to withdraw face-to-face banking services from the Moulamein Agency, effective 26 June 2025.

BankWAW has operated a branch agency out of Council's Moulamein Business Centre for many years, offering banking services to local WAW customers.

BankWAW has cited several reasons for the closure, with declining transactions and increased online banking noted.

To assist customers, BankWAW are providing face-to-face customer support from the Moulamein Business Centre over the coming weeks.

Murray River Council mayor, Cr John Harvie said council are committed to working with BankWAW as they support Moulamein customers to transition to alternative banking arrangements.

"Council acknowledges this may present some challenges for the community."

"BankWAW will provide extensive support to customers until the end of June, so I would encourage customers to make use of this support to help them find alternative banking services."

In addition to the extra customer support being offered at the Business Centre, BankWAW are also setting up a Customer Support Meeting.

This meeting is an opportunity for customers of BankWAW to hear more about the support that will be offered over the 12 weeks prior to the closure of the agency and the banking alternatives that may be available.

The meeting is scheduled for Monday April 7 at 5:00pm. The venue is to be confirmed.
