As stated by QUEENSLAND RAIL HEAD OF SOUTH EAST QUEENSLAND NEIL BACKER:
A modernised rail network makes a big difference in the lives of Queensland Rail customers and whether you use a wheelchair, push a pram or you're travelling with luggage, our station upgrades make train travel easier.
Inclement weather, including the impacts of Tropical Cyclone Alfred, excessive rainfall throughout February and March, as well as complex site constraints have continued to impact our major accessibility upgrade at Banyo station.
To ensure we deliver a completed station for customers, we are aiming to reopen Banyo station mid-year, complete with raised platforms, lifts, an overpass and additional accessibility features and amenities.
We will continue to keep customers and the community updated.
Queensland Rail thanks our customers and the wider community for their ongoing patience while we upgrade Banyo station to make it easier for everyone to catch the train.
