A basketball shooting area and new play equipment have been installed at Kellyville Lions Ted Pike Reserve.
Completed in time for the spring school holidays, the new playground includes:
- Explorer rock wall
- Climber with handrails
- Balance beam
- Cable rope net and ring climber
- Bird's nest swing
- Vertical ladder
- Big dipper slide
- Pod spinner
- Infant swing and more
Mayor of The Hills Shire, Dr Peter Gangemi, said the playground upgrade was designed to suit a range of ages and activities.
"We acknowledge that while there are many families with young children in Kellyville, the area has more established homes with older children looking for outdoor activities," he said.
"The new basketball shooting area and playground equipment offers a range of outdoor play options – there really is something for everyone."
"Basketball is a sport that is rapidly growing in popularity within the Hills, so the shooting area will no doubt be very popular within the local community."
"We've also installed new bench seats and a drinking fountain. I'm certain that with two schools within walking distance this will become a favourite place for family fun," Mayor Gangemi said.
