Bass Coast Shire Council is proud to announce that it has been awarded $96,585 through the Victorian Government's Circular Economy Innovation Fund for the Circular Economy Business Accelerator Program.
The Circular Economy Innovation Fund is delivered through the Circular Economy Business Innovation Centre (CEBIC) by Sustainability Victoria, on behalf of the Victorian Government. CEBIC works to foster innovation and collaboration across supply chains to reduce waste, increase reuse and repair and generate new streams of revenue for business.
Bass Coast Shire Council is one of only seven recipients and the only Council awarded funding in round four of the fund. This groundbreaking initiative aims to transform the business landscape in Bass Coast by embedding circular economy principles into local businesses, fostering sustainability and innovation.
The Circular Economy Business Accelerator Program is designed to help businesses eliminate waste, keep products and materials in use at their highest value, and regenerate natural systems.
"We are thrilled to receive this funding from the Victorian Government's Circular Economy Innovation Fund," said Mayor, Cr Clare Le Serve. "The Circular Economy Business Accelerator Program represents a significant step forward in our commitment to fostering sustainable business practices in our community. We look forward to seeing the innovative solutions and tangible benefits that will emerge from this initiative."
Program Overview:
The Circular Economy Business Accelerator Program aims to help local businesses transition to sustainable, Circular Economy models. Targeting 20 businesses in the Bass Coast region, the free program will enhance understanding and implementation of circular economy practices and stimulate new circular products and services.
Activities will begin with a launch event at Berninneit, Cowes on 20 August 2024 with keynote speakers and a workshop from experts in the field.
The program will then progress to action plan development with all businesses presented with the incredible opportunity of one-on-one consultations including a waste audit. Businesses will benefit from personalised consultations with a specialised consultant that will help shape their tailored action plan.
Participants in the program will then be challenged to take their learnings and implement their action plans through specific projects within their business. After 10 weeks of implementation, the program will conclude with a showcase of achievements on 9 December 2024.
This innovative and exclusive program has been designed for only 20 businesses from diverse industries and sizes, within Bass Coast. Businesses are now invited to participate through the quick and easy Expression of Interest (EOI) process: basscoast.vic.gov.au/CEBAP
