Bass Coast Shire Council has officially adopted the Bass Coast Mountain Bike/BMX/Pump Strategy, a comprehensive plan aimed at expanding and enhancing offroad cycling and recreational opportunities across the region. This inclusive strategy responds to the growing community interest in mountain biking, BMX, and pump track activities, outlining a clear vision for new infrastructure development.
Developed through extensive community engagement, the Strategy has received valuable input from key stakeholders including the Bass Coast Mountain Bike Association, Parks Victoria, Phillip Island Nature Parks, the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action, and a dedicated community reference group. The Strategy is designed to meet the varied needs of the Bass Coast community, ensuring that the new facilities are accessible to people of all ages, abilities, and interests.
The Strategy identifies a range of suitable sites across the Shire for potential development, ensuring that these spaces are not only well-planned but also inclusive of different recreational activities. Whether it's a young child on a scooter, a BMX rider, or an experienced mountain biker, the new facilities will cater to a broad spectrum of users, encouraging more people to engage in physical activities.
