Baw Baw's outdoor pools ready to make a splash this summer

With summer just around the corner, residents can prepare to splash and dive into Baw Baw Shire Council's seasonal outdoor swimming pools.

Seasonal pools in Drouin, Neerim South, Rawson, Thorpdale and Trafalgar will be open to the community from 1 December 2020 to 31 March 2021.

A range of safety measures will be in place for all visitors, including temperature checks, contact tracing and social distancing measures.

Seasonal pools will open when the temperature is forecast to reach or exceed 25 degrees Celsius (except Rawson and Warragul which are not weather dependent). Open days will be determined at 5.00pm for the following day using the Warragul forecast data provided by the Bureau of Meteorology. This format allows pool-goers more time to plan their summer fun earlier than ever before.

All seasonal pools are managed by the YMCA on behalf of Council and will feature summer events such as Family fun day, inflatable sessions and an Australia Day party. All programs and events will be subject to COVID-19 restrictions at the time.

Pools may close prior to or during thunderstorm activity or in extreme weather conditions. All pools will be closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
