Baylor College of Medicine welcomed 13 new members to its Board of Advisors. The Board of Advisors, a non-fiduciary appointed group, works closely with the College's Board of Trustees to provide counsel and support for advancing the strategic needs and mission of the College.
Effective Nov. 1, these business and community leaders join more than 60 members of the Board of Advisors and Board of Trustees who are committed to Baylor's mission to create knowledge and apply science and discoveries to further education, healthcare and community service locally and globally:

- Nancy Chang, Ph.D., of Houston and San Francisco
- Elizabeth Chao of Austin
- Shahab Fatheazam of Lake Forest, Ill.
- Lorin Gu of New York, N.Y.
- Kelly Hackett of Houston
- Holt McNair of Houston
- Paul B. Murphy, Jr. of Houston
- Jim Swanson of New Orleans
- Richard L. Tan of La Jolla, Calif.
- Alex Turkeltaub of Bethesda, Md.
- Sheel Tyle of Spring, Texas
- Ken Valach of Houston
"I have been involved with Baylor College of Medicine for many years, and we are delighted to welcome these accomplished and diverse leaders to our Board of Advisors," said Board of Trustees Chair Greg Brenneman. Baylor Trustees Melanie Gray and Fred Lummis serve as co-chairs of the Board of Advisors and members of its Executive Committee. Other Executive Committee members include Dr. Norbert Bischofberger and Baylor Trustees members David Baldwin, Christopher Sarofim, Marc Shapiro and Chuck Watson.
