Baylor Medicine Launches Orthopedic Clinic at Kirby Glen

Baylor Medicine Orthopedics and Sports Medicine has opened an orthopedic clinic at Kirby Glen and is accepting new patients. Kirby Glen also serves as a physical and occupational therapy clinic.

The new clinic offers services for general orthopedics and sports medicine. Dr. Phillip Williams, orthopedic surgeon and assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine, is the practicing physician at this location along with Amber Breindel, instructor and nurse practitioner of orthopedic surgery at Baylor. Additional orthopedic specialists are expected to join the practice at this location later this year.

"The opening of our Kirby Glen clinic location represents an important step in expanding access to comprehensive orthopedic care for our Houston community," said Dr. Douglas R. Dirschl, professor and chair of Joseph Barnhart Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Baylor. "By integrating our clinical services with our existing physical therapy location, we're creating a seamless care experience that better serves our patients' needs."

Baylor Medicine Orthopedics and Sports Medicine offers non-operative and surgical care for injuries and disorders of the bones, joints and ligaments, tendons, muscles and nerves. Patients can receive help with:

  • Diagnosing an orthopedic condition or disorder
  • Identifying and treating injuries using both surgical and non-surgical approaches
  • Providing rehabilitation to an affected area or function
