MidCoast Council is aware of the situation involving e-scooter provider Beam in other regions.
Council has been in contact with both Beam and Transport for NSW and will continue to discuss the situation.
In the meantime, the trial will continue and will be monitored as initially planned.
There is no financial agreement or payments made between Beam and MidCoast Council.
Transport for NSW approved MidCoast Council to operate the 12-month Forster-Tuncurry trial in December 2023 as part of the NSW Government's Shared E-scooter Trials.
These trials are collecting information on demand for shared e-scooters, safety, and community sentiment. This will help inform the future of shared e-scooters in NSW.
