City of Darwin is proud to present Beyond Biodiversity, the latest instalment in the Lightbox Exhibitions series which celebrates Darwin creatives by displaying their works across the municipality.
From March until August 2025, botanical artworks by local award-winning artist, educator and researcher Anastasia Maximova will be on display in ten purpose-built lightboxes.
Lord Mayor Kon Vatskalis said the latest exhibition featured watercolour works which celebrate native flora found thriving within Darwin's rich biodiversity.
"The latest instalment of the Lightbox Exhibitions captures the essence of Darwin's unique flora," Mr Vatskalis said.
"Beyond Biodiversity highlights the native plant species that thrive in the Casuarina Coastal Reserve and the greater Darwin area, showcasing the beauty, vibrancy and ecological significance of these species.
"We are proud to continue supporting local artists and creative businesses through our Lightbox Exhibitions, which offer a unique way of showcasing art from local artists as well as enriching public spaces with inspiring art," he said.
City of Darwin's Lightbox Exhibitions program features new artworks every six months at three key sites throughout the city, including the Smith Street Mall, the entrance to the Dragonfly Carpark on Cavanagh Street and at the Nightcliff Pool.
The artworks can be seen any time of the day or night, and the program provides an ongoing opportunity for City of Darwin to partner with local lead artists and curators to support and promote Darwin creatives.
