Beetaloo Milestone Spurs Growth, Unlocks CLP Value

NT Government

The Finocchiaro CLP Government has underscored its strong support for the Northern Territory's burgeoning gas industry, following a visit to Tamboran Resources' Shenandoah South Pilot Project in the Beetaloo Sub-basin.

Minister for Mining and Energy Gerard Maley, Minister for Essential Services Steve Edgington, and Assistant Minister for Mining and Energy, Khoda Patel, accompanied Tamboran Resources CEO Joel Riddle on the visit last week.

It comes as Tamboran Resources is undertaking the largest fracture stimulation campaign ever conducted in the Beetaloo Sub-basin, with specialist equipment and expertise provided by Liberty Energy, a leading U.S. energy industry services provider at the cutting edge of fracture stimulation technology and operations globally.

The campaign is progressing in adherence to the Territory's world-leading petroleum regulatory framework, encompassing rigorous environmental oversight and stringent approvals processes.

Mr Maley said: "This is a new chapter in the development of a world-class energy resource, and it was an excellent opportunity to see firsthand the progress being made at Tamboran's Shenandoah South Pilot Project."

"The resources sector is crucial to our vision for a stronger, more prosperous Northern Territory, and Tamboran's investment in the Beetaloo through this campaign is a watershed moment for the industry," he said.

"With gas from the Shenandoah South Project set to flow into the Territory market from next year, this project will fuel growth, create jobs, and deliver energy security for Territorians."

Mr Edgington said: "The gas industry is vital to delivering energy security and economic prosperity-not just for today, but for decades to come."

"We look forward to Tamboran's continued progress in unlocking the immense potential of the Beetaloo, which will support the CLP Government's plan to rebuild the Territory's economy and restore the NT as the best place to live, work, and invest," he said.
