The City of Casey is pleased to announce the opening of Bells Road, a new 6.2km long north-south arterial road stretching from O'Shea Road to Heather Grove.
The project provides greater access to developing Berwick and Clyde North residential estates and an additional north/south connection to the Monash Freeway. Construction of Bells Road was funded through infrastructure contributions by developers, showcasing a successful collaboration between Council and the development industry.
City of Casey Mayor Cr. Stefan Koomen said the project is an exciting development for Casey.
'This project responds to the priorities identified in the recent Shape Your City 2024 community engagement campaign, where improving physical connections, such as roads and public transport, was highlighted as a key concern by our community,' Cr Koomen said.
'Bells Road provides an alternative route to Berwick-Cranbourne Road and Clyde Road and supports the future rollout of bus routes by the Victorian Government.'
'This new road is expected to significantly enhance connectivity and ease traffic congestion in the area, aligning with our commitment to improving infrastructure and meeting the needs of our growing community.'
This significant infrastructure project, valued at over $58 million, includes eight signalised intersections and has been delivered in partnership with the development industry, including Stockland, Frasers Property Australia, and Campbell Park Property Developments Pty Ltd.
