The Bendigo Visitor Centre has won silver in the Qantas Australian Tourism Awards, a national award in recognition of its top customer service.
City Manager Tourism and Major Events Terry Karamaloudis said the City was delighted to receive the national award.
"The City is absolutely thrilled Bendigo Visitor Centre scooped silver at the prestigious Qantas Australian Tourism Awards," Mr Karamaloudis said.
"This is a fantastic achievement for the centre's staff and volunteers in a tough category that had six other state and territory nominees.
"The national silver award acknowledges the centre's consistent high quality customer service and face to face interaction with visitors.
"As the tourism sector continues to bounce back, staff and volunteers have shown incredible passion, resilience and commitment to visitors.
"They ensure every visitor who comes in or calls the centre will receive great advice, information and ideas on what to do and see for a memorable stay in Bendigo."
The City won three golds at the Victorian Tourism Awards in Melbourne last month including in the Bendigo Visitor Centre Information Services Award. Top state honours for Bendigo were also in the Local Government Award (which does not have a national category) and for the Living Arts Space and the Uniquely Bendigo brand.
