- Works have commenced on the Bentley Redevelopment Project, marking the first step to deliver up to 1,000 new homes in Bentley
- Stage one subdivision will create 46 residential lots, two development sites and three public open spaces
Stage one of the Bentley Redevelopment Project has commenced today with civil contractors Ertech starting construction.
Located just eight kilometres from Perth's CBD, the Bentley Redevelopment Project will be one of Perth's largest urban renewal developments, and will create a diverse and sustainable residential community out of underutilised land.
Following community engagement and consultation regarding the masterplan, stage one, expected to be complete by late 2025, will create 46 residential lots, two development sites, and three public open spaces.
As part of stage one, substantial remediation earthworks will also be undertaken across a wider area to ensure the site is safe and suitable for the construction of future homes.
This announcement marks the beginning of the transformation of a 30-hectare redevelopment area into a vibrant residential community of between 800 to 1,000 new homes, including social and affordable housing.
Upon completion, the Bentley Redevelopment will provide a diverse mix of housing types, creating a place for Bentley residents to call home.
The draft Master Plan across proposes that one in seven homes across the precinct will be dedicated to social or affordable housing.
Approximately 12 per cent of the site is set aside as public open space. These areas will support a range of recreational facilities including playgrounds, sports courts and community spaces to support an active community.
