The Bergendorff scholarship was founded in 2022 in honor of Anders Bergendorff, the former program director of the master programme in Toxicology at IMM. This scholarship supports summer internships for students at the program, and the awardees present their projects at the annual Bergendorff seminar.
This year's event was held November 14th where the scholarship holders presented their projects for students, teachers and supervisors:
- Cristian Bujor: From transcriptome to phenotype - understanding the mechanisms of toxicity of welding nanoparticles, which was performed in Anda Gliga's group at IMM.
- Wan Ye: Investigation of the role of DNA double strand breaks in γH2AX foci formation induced by PAHs, which was performed in Kristian Dreij's group at IMM.
- Katia El Nemer: Assessment of the phenotypic alterations in the dermal microbiome of patients with atopic dermatitis before and after treatment with Dupixent (Dupilumab), which was performed in Nanna Fyhrqvist's group at IMM.
- Mina Ristovska: Characterizing AHR-mediated toxicity using novel zebrafish models, which was performed in Emma Wincent's group at IMM.
The program also included some highlights of the coming semester of the programme and presentations from two Toxmaster alumni. The event was rounded off with refreshments and mingle.
